The Tablet of the Manifestation

Introduction In the following Tablet, Bahá’u’lláh describes the metaphysical reality of the Manifestation of God. As affirmed in the Bahá’í Writings, the Manifestations of God are those figures—such as Zoroaster, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, and Bahá’u’lláh—who mediate between God and humanity, and reflect the attributes and perfections of the absolute and transcendent Deity in the contingent […]

Tablet to the Sarvistán Bahá’ís (Lawḥ-i-Aḥibbáy-i-Sarvistán)

The Most Holy, the Most Great, the Transcendent

My beloved ones in Sarvistán,

Give ear to the call of the All-Merciful in the contingent realm, saying, None other god is there beside Him, the Almighty, the Beneficent. We have inhaled the fragrance of your love and have remembered you in this prison in which the Well-Beloved of the lands is captive. The people were awaiting My days, yet when We revealed Him Who is Mine own Self unto them, they disbelieved in Him, except those who had renounced the world and turned to God, the Lord of all men.

On Tribulations (Lawḥ-i- Razáyá)

He is the Exalted in the Most High Horizon
O thou Mím, hearken unto My voice and be not of them that tarry. Testify in thyself that there is none other god but Him, the Almighty, the All-Powerful. He doth as He willeth in His authority, and such as He pleaseth is verily His decree. He is not to be questioned as to what He doeth, and He is verily, the Omnipotent, the All-Informed.

A Tablet of Consolation (Lawḥ-i-Ta‘zíyyih)

J.

God consoles you as a token of His grace, and He is, in truth, the Comforter, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise. Do not be sorrowful on account of your father. He has ascended to God and from him the perfume of My cherished love is diffused. It is for one that is heedless that you ought to grieve, not for one who has attained to the remembrance of Me, the All-Wise.

Meditation on Divine Power (Lawḥí dar Qudrat)

He is the Almighty

Praise be unto Him Who guideth whomsoever He willeth, and Who is verily the Incomparable, the All-Glorious, the Self-Subsistent. He doth verily reveal unto whomsoever He willeth whatsoever He pleaseth, and His command doth He indelibly inscribe upon a Tablet of inviolable glory. Knowledge doth He impart to whomsoever He willeth, and the same doth He withhold if He so desire. He is verily the Incomparable, the Exalted, the Beloved. Unto Him do all in the heavens and on earth submit, and all things are created at the word of His behest “be” and it is. He is the Lord of might and glory, of power and majesty, of grandeur and eternity. All are created at His command and supplicate His grace.

A Letter to a Believer (Lawḥ-i-Kam Min Ṣabíyy)

The Most Holy, the Transcendent, the Supreme

This is missive from Us unto him who attained to the light of the All-Merciful, after all that were heedless and doubtful had denied Him. Your name has been uttered before the throne, and that which elates the mind and causes the soul to take flight and soar has been sent down for your sake. He makes mention in His imprisonment of one who has turned toward Him, and verily His grace has embraced the entire creation.
