Meditation on Divine Power (Lawḥí dar Qudrat)

He is the Almighty

Praise be unto Him Who guideth whomsoever He willeth, and Who is verily the Incomparable, the All-Glorious, the Self-Subsistent. He doth verily reveal unto whomsoever He willeth whatsoever He pleaseth, and His command doth He indelibly inscribe upon a Tablet of inviolable glory. Knowledge doth He impart to whomsoever He willeth, and the same doth He withhold if He so desire. He is verily the Incomparable, the Exalted, the Beloved. Unto Him do all in the heavens and on earth submit, and all things are created at the word of His behest “be” and it is. He is the Lord of might and glory, of power and majesty, of grandeur and eternity. All are created at His command and supplicate His grace.

The Suffering of the Exalted Letters

Glory be unto Thee, O Lord my God! How is the pen to write and the ink to flow, inasmuch as the gentle breezes of affection have been stilled, the daystar of the divine decree hath arisen from the horizon of fulfillment, the sword of tribulation hath been unsheathed from the scabbard of creation, the firmament of sorrow hath been upraised, and the arrows of hardship and the darts of trials have rained down from the clouds of fate, in such wise that the stars of joy in the hearts of Thy loved ones have fallen, every measure of happiness in the souls of Thy chosen ones hath been effaced, and successive tribulations have waxed so severe that no man hath the power to bear them, nor any soul the ability to withstand them. For the doors of hope have been slammed shut, the sweet-scented breezes of fidelity have ceased to waft, and the odours of extinction have been diffused.

Prayer for America (Du‘áyí baráy-i-Ámríká)

He is God

O my God, O Thou Who confirmest every just and equitable sovereignty in ever-abiding majesty, everlasting might, eternal continuance, inviolable stability, steadfastness and glory! By the bountiful effusion of Thy providential care, confirm every government that deals justly with its peoples, every sovereignty neath whose ensigns Thou shelterest the impoverished and the powerless.

The Prayer of Splendor-Du`á’ al-Bahá

I beseech Thee, O my God, of Thy Splendor by the most splendorous thereof, and, verily, all Thy Splendor is resplendent. I entreat Thee, O my Lord, by Thy Splendor in the fullness whereof!

I beseech Thee, O my God, of Thy Beauty by the most beauteous thereof, and, verily, all Thy beauty doth charm. I entreat Thee, O my Lord, by Thy Beauty in the fullness whereof!

The Súrah of the Arabs (Súratu’l-A‘ráb)

This is the Súrah of the Arabs which has been revealed by One Who is the Revealer, the Ancient of Days

He is the Sanctified, the Transcendent, the Exalted, the Most Effulgent

These are the verses of God which have been sent down from the heaven of wondrous glory, and which God has made to be a proof and testament from Him unto the worlds. Within it are mentioned the servants of God who recognized God in His own Self, who were not shut out as by a veil on account of the outcry of the idolators, who entered the shelter of His loving providence and reposed in the precincts of His mercy which surpasses all contingent things – this, indeed, is a great bounty.

The Tablet of the Clouds (Lawḥ-i-Saḥáb)

This is a missive from the All-Merciful to those who have turned toward Him Who is the Point of Adoration unto all in the heavens and on earth, that they may be gladdened by the verses of God, be attracted thereby unto the horizon of Revelation, and be drawn nigh to a station wherein all things proclaim that there is none other god but Me, the Almighty, the All-Knowing.

A Letter to a Believer (Lawḥ-i-Kam Min Ṣabíyy)

The Most Holy, the Transcendent, the Supreme

This is missive from Us unto him who attained to the light of the All-Merciful, after all that were heedless and doubtful had denied Him. Your name has been uttered before the throne, and that which elates the mind and causes the soul to take flight and soar has been sent down for your sake. He makes mention in His imprisonment of one who has turned toward Him, and verily His grace has embraced the entire creation.
